T & E – Blueprint for Battery Regulations in Europe

The motor industry is making strides to decarbonise, not just the emissions from the vehicles it produces but also in the supply chain that underpins its manufacturing and in the provision of the raw materials required to make the vehicles. One of the big, and as of yet reasonably untapped, advantages of the electric car segment is the composition of the batteries used in the cars and the recyclability of the constituents of these batteries after the end of the first life has been reached. Cradle to cradle processes will greatly help the electric automotive industry to green their waste management and recycling of batteries and extract the maximum utilisation of a batteries constituent parts over its many lifetimes.
