McKinsey – Germany’s Energy Transition at a Crossroads

Germany has been a pioneer in renewable energy for a decade and a half now, but the challenge of meeting it’s ambitious CO2 and energy transmission targets may be undermining its credibility as a green energy powerhouse. It is behind target on its CO2 emissions targets for 2020 and 2030 and also on its energy consumption targets.

But there are hopes that the new climate action plan announced in late 2019 will help Germany to meet its CO2 targets and reduce energy prices for citizens at the same time.
